Boy scouts hold blue and gold banquet

On February 13, Cub Scout Pack 4031 held its annual Blue and Gold banquet to honor scouts who earned awards and achievements. Fifth-grade Webelos Scouts Ben Pamperin, Liam Gallagher, Wesley Nurczyk, and Joe Van Ekenvort received the Arrow of Light Award, the highest award in Cub Scouting. Earning the Arrow of Light requires completing many achievements, knowing Scoutcraft skills and being active in the Cub Scout program.

In addition, Liam was presented the God and Me religious emblem from Pastor Bob Wied of New Life Community Church.

“Cub Scouting is a great way for young boys to transition into young adults,” said Cubmaster Steve Drevs.

Many other Cub Scouts in Pack 4031 were recognized for earning badges of rank and achievement. Jean Skovera, who retired as Pack Commissioner in December 2011, also received a special recognition from Pack 4031 for her years of service.

“Cub Scouts really get to spend time and bond with their family and friends. Parents are an extremely important part of a Cub Scout’s journey to Boy Scouts,” Drevs said.

Pack 4031 serves boys from Glenbrook, Fairview, and Assumption BVM elementary schools. Boys interested in Pack 4031 may contact Cubmaster Drevs at pulaski4031@gmail.com.
